What Kangan Institute Needed
Kangan Institute, together with Architectus and Hutchinson Builders, set out to create a contemporary, highly functional facility that prepares students for real-world healthcare scenarios. They needed FF&E solutions that could support everything from tiered lecture spaces to clinical simulations, with a strong focus on flexibility, compliance, and performance.
The goal was clear: deliver a fully equipped learning environment that supports hands-on education, inter-professional training, and community health services, all while maintaining design integrity and meeting critical timelines.
How we acted on what we heard
Appointed by Hutchinson Builders as the dedicated FF&E consultant and supplier, Castledex delivered a turnkey solution across procurement, coordination, delivery, and installation. We worked closely with project stakeholders to curate and supply over 1,000 items ranging from hospital-grade beds and workstations to retractable seating and custom joinery.
Key highlights included:
- Retractable Seating: 126 Audience Systems TX chairs with writing tablets across 9 powered rows.
- Teaching Furniture: Height-adjustable mobile caddies, PET pinboards, and agile whiteboards.
- Clinical FF&E: 34 hospital-grade beds, rehab equipment, hoists, and compliant joinery.
- Workstations: 70+ electric sit-stand desks with acoustic screens and integrated power/data.
- Kitchen & Appliances: Clinical-grade washers, fridges, cooktops, and dishwashers.
- Accessories: Medical waste bins, curtain tracks, call buttons, towel dispensers, and planter systems.
