Located at 1 William St, Perth, the new HQ for the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science & Innovation is a light-filled, modern space with sweeping river views. We partnered with Christou Design to deliver a furniture solution blending form and function.

What JTSI needed

The client required a contemporary, user-focused workstation solution that would enhance productivity while preserving the open, uninterrupted views central to the architectural design. The space needed to feel connected and accessible, with workstations that aligned with the visual clarity and purpose of the department.

How we acted on what we heard

Castledex worked closely with Christou Design and our supplier network to custom design sit-stand workstations that incorporated a unique acoustic screen system. The screens were developed using precision-cut panel technology, allowing them to wrap seamlessly around curved desktop edges without disrupting the visual line of the open floorplate.

To ensure our solution met exact user needs, we constructed and reviewed a full-scale prototype before replicating the setup across all 350 workpoints. This allowed the client to test and approve the design before rollout, providing confidence in both functionality and performance.

Inspired results

The result is a clean, innovative and future-ready office environment that supports focus, wellbeing and collaboration. Through meticulous planning, Castledex delivered to a strict construction schedule and exceeded expectations with a bespoke workstation solution tailored to one of Perth’s most prominent commercial buildings.
