Edith Cowan University’s Building 21 underwent a fast-paced fitout, with Swan Group and Hames Sharley leading the transformation. Castledex was engaged to provide loose furniture and workstation solutions across key zones within the building.

What ECU told us they wanted.

With just four weeks from award to delivery, the brief called for rapid procurement and installation of high-quality furniture that addressed both functional needs and specific accessibility concerns in educational settings. Colour and comfort were also key priorities, especially in the reception and lounge areas.

How we acted on what we heard.

Working closely with Swan Group and Hames Sharley, Castledex curated and supplied a range of flexible seating, workstations, and breakout furniture to suit diverse learning and administrative environments. Special attention was given to selecting pieces that balanced ergonomic support with a vibrant visual palette, ensuring inclusive and inviting spaces.

Highlights included:

  • Modular and accessible seating for reception and informal areas
  • Ergonomic workstations to support student and staff comfort
