What WA Health needed
In response to rising patient volumes, the WA Government required a rapid, flexible solution to expand hospital capacity. The Inpatient Surge Facility would see modular wards delivered across Bentley, Osborne Park, Rockingham, and Bunbury Hospitals, each needing to meet different operational standards while being delivered on a compressed timeline.
WA Health needed a partner who could manage the complexity of multi-site delivery while handling everything from hospital beds and medical equipment to grab rails and curtains—with minimal room for error.
How we acted on what we heard
Castledex was appointed to provide a single-source FF&E service that spanned every stage of the fitout process—from specification, procurement, and sampling to warehousing, delivery, installation, training, and support through the defect liability period.
We managed:
- Over 200 vendors
- More than 500 line items
- A total of 15,000+ pieces of furniture, fittings, and equipment
Despite global supply chain challenges and fast-tracked construction schedules, we delivered to all four hospitals within six months. Our team worked closely with each hospital operator to ensure all medical and support equipment met their specific standards and workflows.
