What the Bushfire Centre of Excellence told us they wanted
The objective was to create a world-class facility that would enable high-level collaboration, learning and emergency management. The space needed to accommodate daily administration, advanced training programs and critical response functions, while delivering a safe, durable and adaptable working environment for DFES staff and first responders.
How we acted on what we heard
Castledex worked closely with Site Architecture and DFES stakeholders from early design development through to installation. Through sample reviews and prototyping, we ensured the final selections aligned with both design intent and practical requirements.
We supplied a complete furniture solution, including workstations, ergonomic task chairs, training and conference seating, mobile furniture and soft seating for rest and recovery. With a strong focus on flexibility, ergonomics and resilience, the solutions were tailored to support the long hours and intense demands placed on emergency management personnel. All finishes and materials were chosen for durability and ease of maintenance in a high-use environment.
Inspired results
The result is a functional and inspiring space that supports the centre’s mission of preparedness, education and response. Castledex’s contribution ensures that those working and training within the centre have a comfortable and supportive environment, whether they are responding to crises, developing strategies or recovering after long shifts.
The Bushfire Centre of Excellence is a project we are immensely proud to have supported. It continues to deliver crucial services and resources across regional WA, strengthening the state’s resilience in the face of bushfire emergencies.
