Max is the dressed-up version of Maximus, Johan Ansander’s playful and iconic easy chair presented in 2021. As Maximus was smoothly shaped from timber, Max offers soft comfort fully clothed with a springy lushness – positioning Max as both a continuation of Maximus or as two completely independent characters.
The craftsmanship expressed in the precise seams endows Max with a distinct character and a mimetic attitude that will make any space look alive.
The excellent level of comfort is thanks to no-sag springs covered with moulded foam all held in place by an exact and quite demanding stitching process.
Designer Johan Ansander was dubbed a design star the very moment Blå Station’s CEO and design manager Johan Lindau discovered Maximus from his master’s degree assignment exhibited at the EX-WORKS 2020 show at Stockholm’s Museum of Furniture Studies.
