Light and nimble, Johan Ansander‘s chair presents a generously slender seat supported by minimal construction. An expertly compression-moulded piece of layer-glued wood turns the hind legs into an accommodating backrest. New for 2024 are the leather-padded backrests.
The same thinly cut compression moulded layer glued wood is used for the front legs and the enclosing rim, all with a precise geometry that allow for a play of shadows and light to set off the lightness of the design even further. At only 4.5kg, OM Dressed is a pure lightweight chair both for hand and eye. This chair is made in European oak or ash; dyed colours are optional along with padded seats.
“My aim was to offer a generous seating experience with very few components, and with the backrest as one visually open piece,” says designer Johan Ansander. “The seat had to be roundish in shape, not rectangular, in order to arrive at the right visual balance.”
