"It was a joy to be involved in the design of the new Castledex showroom. From the beginning of the project the trust and understanding between IA as the designer and Castledex as the client set an impactful working foundation. I thoroughly enjoyed the collaborative nature of working alongside a client who is also in the design world, allowing us to push the plan of the space while respecting our collective knowledge.
It was challenging to create an aesthetic which provided a blank slate for a fluid and ever evolving furniture display while also capturing the personality of Castledex, emanating their brand. Tasked with creating a part showroom, retail & office space, we looked towards hospitality projects and innovative workplace design for inspiration. The resulting bespoke interior utilises travertine tiles and timber hues to exude refined warmth. The repeated archways and curves soften the edges of the existing brutalist building making a place for Castledex to shine."
