The shared success between Castledex, Sheffield and the Management Team at 44 St Georges Terrace is plain to see with the revamped foyer that brings elegant modern design into the timeless aesthetic of 44 St Georges Terrace.

Sheffield and the Management Team at 44 St Georges Terrace had a problem their lobby was looking tired and dated and, the furniture did not do justice to the design. The brief and challenge to Castledex were simple – a blank canvass to showcase furniture and allow tenants and visitors to use the floor space in the foyer to facilitate ‘meet, greet, work and relax’. The Castledex team engaged the design skills of IA Design to help turn the vision into reality.

Working closely with Interface’s Nikki Wood, the Castledex and IA Design set about working on a design proposal to create four distinct areas meeting the needs of those using the lobby. Leaning on our extensive list of partner brands, Castledex was able to work closely with Haworth, Boss Design, SBW, Arko and Apparentt to combine Australian Made sophistication and European elegance. Coupling furniture design with Interface’s floor coverings helped to collate the palette of both the furniture and the building. And in doing so, creating beautiful vignettes of activity in the lobby of one of Perth’s most iconic buildings.

Since installation, the use of the space has increased, tenants see it as an extension of their workspaces. 44 St Georges Terrace foyer is a success story of how innovative design and complimentary furniture selections can come together to renew and energise a public space.
